The weather forecast for the week of The Challenge 2019
Despite very changeable weather in recent days, the weather prospects for The Challenge 2019 are pretty good!
There will be a weak ridge of high pressure over the central Mediterranean during the first two days of this week bringing windy (Bora!) and rather cold weather.
Wednesday is marked as a transition day to the next weather perturbation which is about to cross the region on Thursday with the SE (Jugo) picking up on Thursday morning (20-30 kts), cloudy weather and some rain. However, the weather will improve already on Thursday evening by clearing up the sky.
On Friday some sunny weather is expected with light (5-15 kts) North-Westerlies, light land-breeze during the night and SE slowly starting on Saturday.
The next weather front is approaching on the Saturday to Sunday night so the first part of the Saturday the weather will remain fine, but later in the afternoon, the Jugo (SE) will be getting stronger and already mostly cloudy weather is expected for the Saturday evening.
So, all in all, it doesn’t look too bad for the event itself. It is currently looking like almost perfect weather conditions, some wind transitions, sunny and relatively warm, definitely, no reason to blame the weather for not coming to Jezera!
