Joining the HBA
We are getting ready for the challenge of the seas, the largest singlehanded long-distance race in the world Silverrudder. A tenth of the boats on the starting line (450 in total) will be Seascape boats. Our fleet also holds the highest finisher rate.
Since last year, when he accidentally named the brave sailors that made it around Funned (i.e. Hard B*stards), he has been keen to give it a go himself. We got him a boat and registered him in time. He now doesn’t have any more excuses. It is a go hard or go home time!
Who is he? He is Phil Sharp our longtime friend who was with us from the beginning. He was one of the first sailors to test the Seascape18 prototypes more than a decade ago. He is also a sailor that is currently leading the Class40 series which he has won last year. He is a two time World Speed Sailing Record holder. He was on the podium in the most challenging solo Transat race arriving with a destroyed mainsail. He won the 2006 Route du Rhum, finishing a day ahead of second place and so on. But at the end of a day, he is a really great guy, a true Seascaper.
