Seascape boats have always been challenging their owners to extend their comfort zone on events like Seascape Challenge and Silverrudder to mention just the most famous ones. There is nothing different with the youngest members of the fleet. Seascape14 is the first dinghy from Seascape. As her bigger sisters, she is a perfect platform for new adventures.
One of the first challenges that Seascape14 will embark on is entirely different from the rest, but it’s de facto more challenging – nonstop doublehanded sailing along the Adriatic coast from Savudrija peninsula to Dubrovnik harbour. A rhumb line distance of 280 NM. The challenge will be sailed between 5th and 13th of August, depending on the optimal weather conditions during these days.
The crew challenging the Adriatic Sea and themselves are two experienced long-distance sailors, Tit Plevnik and Ivica Kostelić. Tit Plevnik is a member of Seascape Team since 2010 and did many long distance races in recent years, mostly on different Seascape models. Ivica Kostelić is a world-famous Croatian skier with numerous World Cup and Olympic medals, who is now actively sailing his Class40 on long distance races.
During the whole challenge, Seascape14 will be escorted by a motorboat, which will take care of the safety of the boat and the crew and of course, make sure that the challenge is well documented. Jaka Ivanc, a Slovenian theatre director, will take care of the video production and photography.
Last but not least there is no Seascape event without our experienced meteorologist Jure Jerman, who will provide all weather information for safe navigation and optimal weather window with preferable conditions.
